I don’t typically share the specifics of my prayer life. Not for any deep reason… I think I just consider that most of those “conversations” are personal. I grew up in a Catholic home where our prayers were either memorized and recited or said in silence. But I have to share this because I feel strongly that a regular practice of expressing gratitude can transform your day and even your life. When we take a moment to realize how blessed we are, we tend not to focus as much on what’s wrong or absent from our lives.
I woke up the other morning and without even thinking about it, this prayer came to mind. Rather than ask God for things, I really needed to give some thanks. I thought I would share this with you in case it’s something you need today. Xo
Thank you for ALL that is, even that which is hard.
Thank you for the PEACE to feel your presence and love.
Thank you for the PATIENCE to wait for the gifts you have in store for me.
Thank you for the COURAGE to handle any challenges that come my way.
Thank you for STRENGTH because you never promised us an easy life.
Thank you for the WISDOM to know that I don’t know everything and that I don’t need to.
Thank you for the FAITH to believe what can’t be seen.
Thank you for filling my heart with LOVE and GRATITUDE for all that surrounds me and breathes life into my life.
